
Hello! I’m Monique and welcome to my kitchen. I am a home cook who has been cookbook obsessed ever since I was old enough to read, learning how to cook recipe by recipe ever since.
My mother was a great teacher but my only regret is that I didn’t write down more of what she had to teach me. That has inspired me to start this blog and share all of my “healthy-ish” family favorites and personal recipes that I have created and adapted through much trial and error.
I aim to cook meals that are mostly all from scratch with the best ingredients that time and budgets allow. We like to think realistically, it is too much pressure to follow all of the advice we hear, all of the time and I am a firm believer that if we are going to indulge, homemade is best. Anytime I can avoid added & unnecessary ingredients, I feel that I am making a healthier decision.
Follow along with my family’s food journey as I make bread from “scratch” using the dough cycle of my bread machine, bake treats to put smiles on the faces of those I love, and write about recipes old and new hoping to inspire all of you to cook at home too!
